Michael Magyar brings a wealth of both practical and academic experience to his work. His studies began with a concentration in ceramics and sculpture that led to carving stone in Italy for a summer and A BFA degree from Washington University Fine Arts School. After his involvement in the construction of a hot glass studio, Michael became fascinated with the glass medium as a form of expression. He continued studying sculpture and began studying glass blowing and glass production quite extensively in Japan and in the United States where he earned an MFA degree from Tulane University. He has learned from the masters, taught as an instructor and designed and constructed several glass facilities.
During the past decade, he has participated in several solo exhibitions in Japan featuring his blown glass and sculpture as well as group exhibits locally, nationally and internationally.
